Play room paintings- They are finished!!

I finally finished the painting project that I began in April '08. There are 3 paintings as you can see, next to each other on the wall in our basement, Casey's play room. Each painting is 4 ft tall and 3 ft wide... making the 3 of them 9 ft wide just about covering the whole wall.

Justin's Aunt Wendy is a professional artist, and enabled this amazing project. She had these designs from a previous fundraising project she facilitated. She generously provided and drew the sketches on the canvasses, tabbed them with paint, provided the paint and supplies and set me on my way for the project. Thank you so much, Aunt Wendy!

It took quite a while to finish all 3, since I worked on them mostly in the evening for an hour at a time while Casey was sleeping. I am very happy that I completed them before the baby's arrival.

Happy New Year 2009

We celebrated the New Year at friends with a few other families. Although we did not intend to stayat our friend's house until 2009 arrived, we were having a great time, and the kids were well behaved that we ended up being there for the ball drop.
Casey was cozy in her sassy PJs, a Christmas gift from cousins, Hope and Olivia.

Merry Christmas 2008

Casey really enjoyed Christmas this year. She was very excited to see what Santa brought, and loved seeing her new "bicycle" by the tree. We really enjoyed the morning with her, and she was just adorable opening gifts. After each pice of torn wrapping paper, she would ensure it went into the trash bag, very neat and tidy. Then she lined up all her gifts in the middle of the room after she opened each one. Her excitement and happiness was wonderful to see.

Just before noon, we drove to visit family in Wilmington... here are pictures from the afternoon. We had a great time visiting and resting with Grandparents, and other relatives. As you can see from the photos and warm smiles, there were 4 generations of family there enjoying the day. GG Irene was celebrating her 90th birthday on the 26th, so we feel blessed to have the opportunity to visit her during the trip.
